My brave and noble friend,
I had not done you well.
I've learnt now not to play pretend,
Nor pretty lies to tell.

Compassion was all that I could spend.
Dear unlover, this truest knell--
No matter how I might twist, or bend.
--tell me it will undo the spell.

Tell me that your heart will mend.
I admire you men, who give things all your heart. Whoever said women were the most compassionate was lying their heart out.

I wish every one of you well.

This experiment in free verse is dedicated to you.

Funny, I never see poems from this side of the breakups...

Hmm, a very interesting perspective. I really don't have any criticisms here, I'm not particularly good at critiques anyway, but I just really enjoyed the refreshing angle.

I like how you captured the emotion in such a a succinct piece.

Thanks for bring something new to a sea of well-worn formulaic love poems.
